What Do You Think?

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) wants to know what you think about the National Firewood Task Force’s recommendations to prevent the movement of invasive forest pests via firewood.

These recommendations include federal firewood movement regulations, voluntary industry actions, and public outreach activities. We hope to receive your comments by the end of June 2010, and they will help to further inform us on these issues as we consider possible regulatory and other actions.


You can learn more about the task force and view its final report online at here, which includes a link for e-mailing your comments to firewood@aphis.usda.gov.  Please share this Web address with your colleagues and other interested parties.

The Web page also has a link to the stakeholder registry for USDA’s Plant Protection and Quarantine program. We urge you to join the registry and select “Firewood” as a topic of interest to receive important updates on this and other firewood-related issues.
